‘He had nothing to do with it’ | Wrong suspect jailed in fatal hit-and-run

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The lawyer for a man who was wrongfully jailed after a fatal hit-and-run, spoke with WWL Louisiana over the weekend. He claims that he, and his client’s relative, gave exculpatory evidence to the Sheriff’s Office shortly after the arrest.

Still, the man remained in jail for two weeks.

“My client is not going to be wrongly jailed for decades because the Sheriff’s Office didn’t want to do what they needed to do,” said Joseph Raspanti, attorney for Cody Beaudette…
