WACH — South Carolina’s new hands-free law takes effect Monday, making it illegal for drivers to hold a phone or any other mobile electronic device while driving.
Drivers cannot use devices to read or send texts or emails, browse websites, post on social media, watch videos or movies, or take video calls.
Smartwatches and earpieces for voice communication are allowed.
