ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -The Budget Inn and Scottish Inn on Southwest 13th Street are currently undergoing renovations, with completion dates set for September 30th for the Scottish Inn and December 30th for the Budget Inn.
Once abandoned and reports of squatters, the properties began to see a change after Alachua County purchased the Budget Inn in 2020, followed by the Scottish Inn two years later.
The total renovation cost for both motels is estimated at $8 million.
“It’s rewarding to see all the changes that have been made,” said Travis Parker, Alachua County Facility Director. “We are starting to see that transformation happen.”…
