Police: DUI for Chicago Woman Swerving Vehicle with Flat Tire

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— These reports are from the most recent batch we received from Park Forest Police. We will publish a few a day. They cover incidents from July 28 through August 19, 2025. Included here are two reports of DUI, domestic battery, and driving with a suspended license. In the first DUI incident, an officer discovered a driver at the wheel of a swerving vehicle that had a flat tire. In a second instance, a northbound driver drove in the southbound lane of Western Avenue, only to return to the proper lane to avoid a collision, according to police.

Revoked License, DUI

Police arrested Ashley N. Turner, 34, of the 7400 block of 159th St., Chicago, on July 28 and charged her with driving with a revoked license, driving under the influence of alcohol — BAC over 0.08. Police also issued Ms. Turner citations charging disregarding a stop sign and transporting alcohol by a driver. Ms. Turner has an initial court date of September 9, 2025, at the Markham Courthouse.

Report: Swerving Vehicle Driving on a Flat

At 1:49 AM, an officer was traveling westbound on Sauk Trail from Oakwood Street when he saw a red 2017 Hyundai traveling west on Sauk Trail from Oswego Street. The vehicle had its emergency lights on, and the officer could hear the sound of the vehicle driving on a flat or a missing tire. While following behind the vehicle, the officer saw the Hyundai swerve, striking the curb in the first block of Sauk Trail, according to police.

The officer activated his emergency lights and pulled over the vehicle on Sauk Trail. Speaking with the driver, later identified as Ashley N. Turner, the officer informed her of the reason for the stop. Ms. Turner allegedly told the officer she knew her tire was flat and that she had a spare. However, she didn’t change the tire as she was close to home, according to police.

Inspecting the vehicle, the officer noted that the front passenger tire and rim were severely damaged, as was the front bumper, according to police. It appeared to the officer that the vehicle had been in a crash or had struck a large curb, police said. Ms. Turner said she did not know exactly where her tire went flat but thought it was only a few streets back, according to the report.

Officer Suspects DUI

While speaking with Ms. Turner, the officer noted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. When asked about the smell, Ms. Turner allegedly related that she spilled an alcoholic drink in her car, according to police. She then admitted that she was driving home from a concert. When asked how much he had to drink, she allegedly stated that she only had four drinks, but she felt okay to drive home, according to police.

Ms. Turner had glassy eyes and slightly slurred speech, according to police. When she provided her license and proof of insurance, the officer learned that Ms. Turner’s license had been suspended on July 21, 2025, due to financial reasons, according to police…
