Hinds County to launch 911 Nurse Navigation

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Hinds County will soon have a new system in place to connect nurses with 911 callers.

The system, named 911 Nurse Navigation, has partnered with American Medical Response (AMR) and its parent company Global Medical Response (GMR) to bring a team of trained nurse navigators who use established protocols to screen the caller and then offer an appropriate resource to meet their unique healthcare needs.

This system hopes to ensure those who call 911 receive the right care, at the right time, in the right setting. The system will find 911 callers with less serious medical needs that don’t require an immediate, urgent response to reduce unnecessary ambulance dispatches and emergency room visits…
