HARLEM, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Weapons were found on separate campuses in the past few days — including a white powdery substance, according to school officials.
Lucy C. Laney High School
A student was found with a gun after Tuesday morning’s routine with the weapon detection system, according to a letter sent home to families.
The Richmond County School System Police were notified, searched and took the student into custody.
Wheeless Road Elementary
On Friday, school officials say a teacher found a student’s change purse containing a white substance. The letter states the student was preparing to buy a snack.
