Man accused of starting Forestbrook-area apartment fire was upset about not renewing lease, report says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man accused of starting a Forestbrook apartment fire did it because he was upset they weren’t renewing their lease, according to Horry County police records obtained by News13.

Jake Licoski, 55, was arrested on Sunday and charged with three counts of attempted murder, one count of first-degree arson, failure to stop for a blue light and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. He remains in jail as of late Tuesday morning with no bond set.

The fire, which happened shortly after midnight at the West Flintlake Court apartments, sent one person to the hospital, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. Two other people declined treatment…
