MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WCIV) — The Lowcountry Food Bank announced Tuesday that they have increased the reach of their food pantries by installing 28 food lockers at the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Murrells Inlet.
These lockers will be available for those facing food insecurity to have access to free, healthy food outside of regular food pantry hours.
“The future of food assistance lies in meeting people where they are, respecting their time, and offering support in a secure way,” said Deb Smith, Shepherd of the Sea Food Pantry Director in a prepared statement. “Everyone deserves access to nutritious food, and these lockers provide a more convenient neighbor experience that expands their food choices and also removes some of the hurdles to food access.”…
