SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Savannah is getting ready to celebrate a unique holiday. It’s called 912Day, and it’s more than just an area code – it’s a celebration that shines a spotlight on everything that keeps Savannah soaring. It all kicks off today at City Hall, followed by nine full days of fun.
So for any Savannah lovers… this is your week to shine! The City is rolling out a celebration like no other. The events range throughout this week, from scavenger hunts to block parties and it’s all about lifting up the people who make this city soar. And with nearly 300 years of history? There’s a whole lot to be proud of.
In a video shared on Facebook to launch the holiday, both Savannah’s Mayor Van Johnson and City Manager Jay Melder say in an excited tone, “Get ready! Because you can’t have 912 day without Savannah. Let’s go!”…
