LUBBOCK, Texas–After nearly four hours of deliberation, the Lubbock City Council voted 5-2 on Tuesday to adopt a new property tax rate of $0.472191 per $100 of property valuation for the upcoming fiscal year. The newly approved rate represents a 2.2% increase over the current rate, down from the originally proposed 3.77% hike.
