Sentence issued for Lubbock man found guilty in infant’s death

LUBBOCK, Texas — After a Lubbock jury found him guilty of manslaughter stemming from the 2021 death of a 2-month-old baby, Adam Canales, Jr. received a 20-year sentence from a Lubbock judge on Tuesday.

According to prior reporting from EverythingLubbock.com, Adam and Sarah Canales were arrested on charges of manslaughter in 2022 after a baby, later identified as their daughter, was found dead inside their home. Adam was found guilty by a jury in his trial, while Sarah’s case remains ongoing, as of writing.
