Peaceful Free Speech Rally in Portland Draws Thousands, Praised for Collaboration with Police

Thousands gathered in Downtown and Inner Southeast Portland on Monday for a free speech rally that concluded peacefully. A collective effort between the public and the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is credited with the smooth flow of the event.

The gathering, which began around noon near the Battleship Oregon Memorial in Waterfront Park, transitioned into a march that coursed through the city utilizing both the Burnside and Morrison Bridges.
