Shoplifter who drove mom’s minivan at Home Depot staff sent to prison

ALBANY — A 44-year-old shoplifter who drove his mother’s minivan at Home Depot employees, including a woman who was seven months pregnant, when they confronted him about the theft of power tools was sentenced to eight years in prison, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s office.

Judge Andra Ackerman also ordered Philip Sarner to serve five years of post-release supervision after his prison term is complete.
