A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the city of Homewood, two police officers and the city’s former police chief that alleged excessive force when an officer shot a 71-year-old homeless man six times during an exchange.
Judge Madeline Haikala ruled that the officer who shot James Ronald Logan acted reasonably during the altercation in Oct. 2022.
