CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Passenger rail advocates in Ohio are calling on the public to demand increased investment in passenger train services as they express concerns over the state’s current rail priorities.
The Amtrak Cardinal is currently the only passenger train serving the Tri-State area, stopping at Union Terminal in the middle of the night while en route to Chicago or New York City. It only comes through three times a week in each direction.
A proposal known as the 3C & D exists to create a new train route from Cincinnati through Dayton, Columbus, and onto Cleveland. However, this proposal is still in the development stage, and advocates insist that the state must take action to ensure Ohio remains on track with the project…
