BICYCLIST ARRESTED AFTER MIDTOWN SACRAMENTO POLICE PURSUIT

​SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A bicyclist was taken into custody early Saturday morning after leading Sacramento police officers on a pursuit through Midtown.

Just before 1:15 a.m., officers attempted to stop the rider near 17th Street and Victorian Alley for a traffic violation, police said. The bicyclist refused to stop and was pursued through several blocks, at one point tossing objects from his pockets that appeared to be drug bindles, according to police radio traffic monitored by Public Safety News.

The chase ended under the Highway 50 freeway when the suspect, out of breath and sweating heavily, was detained on 18th Street between W and X streets…
