Mail Theft Suspects Apprehended in Brentwood Following Community Tip and Police Investigation

Mail thieves in Brentwood have been caught thanks to a tip from a watchful neighbor and diligent police work. The City of Brentwood Police Department recently apprehended two suspects connected to a mail theft in late August. Last Friday, a day-shift officer responded to the report of the theft, which had taken place the previous week. Investigative efforts yielded surveillance footage of the suspects’ vehicle, prompting a lookout notice to be distributed among the force.

The breakthrough came when another officer spotted the vehicle on Lone Tree Way and Fairview Avenue. The suspects, 53-year-old Johnny Navarrette and 27-year-old Mariah Molina, both residents of Brentwood, were to be promptly detained. Upon searching their car, law enforcement discovered not only the stolen mail from the reported theft but also suspected narcotics, additional stolen property, and evidence indicative of identity theft.
