ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – For the first time in its 125-year history, Albuquerque Fire Rescue staffed an engine company entirely with female firefighters.
On September 1, Engine 15 operated with an all-female crew during a 10-hour day shift. All four positions and ranks were filled by women, including Driver Burns, a veteran firefighter with 26 years of service.
