The National Weather Service reported an updated air quality alert at 3:25 a.m. on Wednesday in effect until 5 p.m. for Lane County Cascade Foothills and Cascades of Lane County.
“The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency has continued an Air Quality Advisory, which is IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 p.m. THURSDAY. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke remains in effect. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at times through Thursday evening. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems.
