‘Aren’t going to tolerate that behavior’ | Knoxville police remind UT fans not to drink and drive on game day

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – 101,915 people fit inside Neyland Stadium, which means a lot of cars travel to Knoxville every Saturday home game in the fall.

It creates not only a lot of traffic but also a big job for the Knoxville Police Department and partnering agencies to patrol.

The Knoxville Police Department’s Scott Erland said his department isn’t messing around with people who think it is okay to get behind the wheel intoxicated.

Erland said the earlier people get to campus before kickoff, the better chance of avoiding traffic. He added that it is important for folks to have a post-game plan if they plan to drink inside the stadium…
