Multiple individuals sentenced for illegal reentry

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Multiple foreign nationals were sentenced for illegal reentry in the United States after being deported, according to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Alabama.

Court documents show that Hermes Castillo, 44, and Miguel Alavarado-Villanueva, 36, were stopped by the Elberta Police Department on May 29 of this year. After this encounter, Homeland Security Investigations was made aware and arrested the two for illegally being in the U.S.

Castillo was deported from the U.S. on three separate occasions and was convicted of cocaine possession and illegal reentry in 2012, the release said. Alvarado was deported from the U.S. on three separate occasions, as well.

The two were sentenced to time served and one year of supervised release if they are not deported, and will be put into the custody of immigration officials after being released from prison…
