Southeast Michigan doctor arrested in child exploitation investigation

MONROE β€” A Southeast Michigan doctor was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service following a Florida investigation into the solicitation of a sexual relationship with a 5-year-old girl, authorities said.

According to a Sept. 3 report from CBS, the Port St. Lucie Police Department in Florida reported that its Internet Crimes Against Children unit began investigating in June with the help of digital forensic experts. The department said one of its detectives posed as the mother of a young girl during online conversations with a man who sought β€œto see if she would allow her 5-year-old to be courted by and have a sexual relationship with him.”

Police said the investigation uncovered graphic messages detailing plans to groom the child and pursue sexual activity. Additional digital forensic work revealed other explicit conversations involving conception, abortion and drug or alcohol use, according to the report…
