According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, a few showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across the combined Panhandles starting around 3 p.m. Wednesday, with the highest chance for severe weather between 4 and 8 p.m. While the overall risk remains low—between 5 to 14%—cities like Perryton, Canadian, and Wheeler could see isolated damaging winds if storms intensify.
Areas along U.S. Route 83 and U.S. Route 60, especially near Perryton and Canadian, should remain alert. Wind gusts up to 70 mph could down tree limbs and power lines.
