KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man who worked for the Kennewick School District as a security guard and was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a student in 2024 has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the incident, but will not serve any prison time, according to court documents.

Further investigation, and the help of the FBI, tracked the teen to a location in Gresham, Oregon.
Investigators said Caulder told them the teenager had left home and reached out to him for help. Caulder said he took the teen to Oregon so they could get on a train and go to California. On July 3, 2024, Caulder was arrested and later charged with crimes including second-degree kidnapping.
According to court documents, on August 27, 2025, Caulder pleaded guilty to charges of family abandonment, unlawful harboring of a minor, and making a false statement to a public servant. The charge of family abandonment had been amended from a charge of second-degree kidnapping.
