Waikiki chef facing financial challenges after surviving moped crash

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A McCully man is recovering, two weeks after getting hit by a car while riding his moped to work in Waikiki.

With 57 traffic fatalities on Oahu so far this year, Alex Shiraishi says he’s lucky to be alive, especially since he was not wearing a helmet.

Now he’s bracing for a bumpy road to recovery…
