Pay up or get fined. MBTA ready to crackdown on fare evaders starting Monday

MBTA riders hoping to sneak on the T without paying their fare will face consequences starting Monday.

The first time, you’ll get a warning from the agency. After that, your first, second and third offenses will each be a $50 fine. Beyond that, it jumps to $100.
