‘Swatting’ hoax leads to hospital lockdown in Willoughby, SWAT situation

LAKE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A ‘swatting’ call about a murder led to the lockdown at UH Lake West Medical Center and the activation of the Western Lake County Emergency Response Team.

Willoughby Police Detective Lieutenant Michael Sevel said at 7:08 a.m. Thursday, there was a 911 call from a man who said he had just shot and killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.
