Coastal Carolina professor jailed on DUI charge, accused of being intoxicated during class

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Coastal Carolina human resources employee received “numerous” complaints from parents about a professor being intoxicated during class before her DUI arrest last month, according to a university police report.

Florence Glaze, 61, was arrested Aug. 21 and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. She was released the following day on a $992 bond.

Coastal Carolina police officers responded Aug. 21 to Britain Hall for a report of an intoxicated professor, the report shows. The officers met with two university employees, one of them being a human resources employee, who told them they received numerous complaints from parents of CCU students about Glaze being intoxicated during class…
