An unlicensed teen from Mexico landed behind bars after he was caught with an illegal substance.
A deputy observed 18-year-old Jose Martinez Lucero driving a green 1999 Infiniti passenger car with no working tag lamps around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Gulf Atlantic Highway and South Main Street in Wildwood.
When asked for his license, Martinez Lucero advised that he had only a passport. He had never had a license, as he was not a citizen of the United States. Dispatch then confirmed there was no record of him or a license, the report said.
He was subsequently asked to step out of the vehicle and arrested. A search of his person followed, during which he admitted to having a small black sunglasses case in his front right pocket. Inside were two small clear containers with yellow wax, an electric smoking device with residue on one end and a small metal utensil with residue, the report said…
