MADISON, Wis. — A man shot and killed by Marinette police officers last week was wanted in the death of a 70-year-old man in southcentral Wisconsin.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said Thomas Muckler, 70, Madison, was killed by a 23-year-old man who had broken into his Mazomanie cabin and was staying there. Mazomanie is less than an hour’s drive northwest of Madison.
The sheriff’s office began investigating after Muckler was found dead late Aug. 28 at a cabin. Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett, in a press release, said Muckler left Madison at around 10 a.m. Aug. 28 to go to the cabin.
