Runner On The I & M Canal Tow Path Beaten By A Dirt Bike Operator

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police and Will County Forrest Preserve Police are investigating an incident that occurred on the I and M canal tow path in Channahon on Tuesday evening.

WJOL learned yesterday that a male runner and a man in his 20’s, who was riding a dirt bike, got into an altercation on the path. The runner was allegedly battered by the dirt biker operator, who then fled the scene.

The runner was taken to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. The dirt bike rider was wearing a black helmet and was riding a green dirt bike. A screenshot of the dirt bike operator has been released, but police have no other information..
