Weld seeks input before emergency plan revamp complete

Weld County is asking residents to help draft a new plan to handle regional hazards and emergencies, such as wildfires, flooding, tornadoes, or winter storms.

“Whenever an emergency occurs, it’s common to ask, ‘Was my community prepared? Why did this storm impact my area so severely?’” Denise Bradshaw, emergency management coordinator for the Weld Office of Emergency Management. “The answer comes down to community preparedness and resiliency planning, which the Hazard Mitigation Plan update helps solidify.”

The public meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Events Room at the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 O Street in Greeley…
