Oregon man arrested with handgun built to work like machine gun

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Dallas man was arrested in Newport last week during a traffic stop where police said they discovered a modified handgun designed to work like a machine gun.

Late on Aug. 27, Newport police said they saw a driver commit a traffic violation and pulled him over.

The driver, identified as Michael Andrew Knight, 35, had a warrant out for his arrest, and more officers were called to the scene.
