Power knocked out for thousands in Schenectady, Rotterdam

SCHENECTADY — Two outages impacting more than 4,500 customers were reported in Schenectady and Rotterdam Thursday, according to National Grid.

The utility company’s outage map showed power outages stretching from the intersection of State and Catherine streets to the north to Hamburg Street and Stoodley Place to the south. The area without power included parts of North Brandywine, Altamont, Chrisler, Norwood and Michigan avenues.

Both outages were reported around 4 p.m., according to National Grid.

Estimated restoration for both outages was around 7:45 p.m., according to the outage map, but by 6:30 p.m. most customers had seen their power restored…
