Local blind veterans honored with handmade quilts

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Knights of Columbus from Greensboro, Ga, presented handmade quilts to Veterans from VA Augusta Health Care System’s Blind Rehabilitation program on Wednesday.

The quilts were presented during a ceremony on Sept. 3rd, at its Uptown campus.

Some of the handcrafted quilts were made by members of the parish, each symbolizing appreciation and respect for veterans and have been affected by war. Organizers said it’s all about showing love and giving back to those at the VA…
