Man arrested after standoff in Santa Rosa home

A man was arrested Monday after an hourslong standoff ended shortly after the man shot himself, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

Mauricio Flores, 50, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on Tuesday on seven counts, including a felony stalking charge and three felony counts of criminal threats, according to jail records. A judge set his bail at $500,000.

The incident unfolded around 6 p.m. on Labor Day, when the sheriff’s office received a report that Flores was planning to drive to a home in the Russian River town of Guerneville to kill his daughter and her mother, deputies said.
