El Paso DA to address dismissed charges in Horizon teen’s traffic death

EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso District Attorney’s Office on Thursday gave more insight into the dismissed charges against a man accused of driving drunk and killing Horizon teen Miguel Angel Romero last year.

According to District Attorney James Montoya, the charge of intoxication manslaughter against Oscar Solis, the 55-year-old man who was accused of driving drunk and killing the teen, was dismissed in April due to insufficient evidence, stating that new evidence reviewed by his office since taking power in January proved Solis’ innocence.

The incident occurred in February of last year when Solis was accused of driving under the influence and causing a crash that killed 17-year-old Romero, a Horizon High School student, on Darrington Road in Horizon City…
