Nebraska WR limited, still feeling effects of brutal Cincinnati hit

Nebraska football wide receiver Jacory Barney is expecting a tremendous sophomore season. Unfortunately, before he can really get rolling on that goal, he’s going to have to overcome the hit he took in the Huskers’ first game of the season.

Early in the game against Cincinnati, Barney caught a pass from quarterback Dylan Raiola and then took a rather hard hit by two defenders. The hit was so violent that many onlookers expected him to be injured. However, he continued to play on Thursday night and ended with 5 catches and 27 yards.

While it seemed like the Nebraska football star was fine, it turns out that he’s still been feeling the effects. As head coach Matt Rhule said on Thursday, Barney has been “limited” this week with an ankle injury.

Rhule went on to say that Barney has practiced this week. He’s also available against Akron. However, at the moment, the staff isn’t sure about how big his workload will be…
