Louisiana law enforcement agencies announce results of Operation Golden Eagle

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Various law enforcement agencies announced the results of Operation Golden Eagle 2025 Thursday, Sept. 4. It was a multi-agency partnership aiming to remove illegal guns and narcotics around New Orleans.

The operation involved the New Orleans Police Department, Louisiana State Police, the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Marshals Service and Louisiana Probation and Parole.

According to the NOPD, these agencies worked to target the drivers of violent crime and illegal narcotics. The operation resulted in:

  • 60 felony arrests
  • 38 misdemeanor arrests
  • 44 narcotics arrests
  • 18 fugitive arrests
  • 35 firearm-related arrests
  • 39 illegal firearms seized
  • 35 citations issued
  • 19 search warrants executed
  • 31 narcotics seizure events
  • 3 stolen vehicles recovered
  • 132 traffic stops conducted
  • Estimated $39,424 in street-value narcotics removed
  • $9,395 in cash seized from illegal drug proceeds

NOPD officials said the operation also resulted in the recovery of 4.1 kilograms of marijuana, 41 grams of cocaine, 31 grams of methamphetamine, 1,251 grams of Tapentadol, 53 grams of fentanyl and 89 fentanyl tablets.

“These are not just numbers—they are real interventions that save lives and protect communities,” said NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.” Every gun taken off the street, every dose of fentanyl seized, every violent offender removed from a neighborhood represents a safer New Orleans.”…
