Two Men Charged and Arrested in Potomac Pharmacy Heist During Multi-State Crime Spree

Two men have been charged in an armed robbery that had the Potomac community on edge. The Montgomery County Department of Police reported that the CVS Pharmacy on Tuckerman Lane fell victim to a gun-wielding duo in the early hours of May 25. According to official details, Shakir Dequan Jude and Justin Thomas Whitaker, entered the store donning masks, gloves, each armed with handguns. They proceeded to quickly usher three employees and one customer into a restroom, confiscating their cell phones in a swift display of authority. The ordeal didn’t end there; under the threat of violence, they compelled the pharmacist to unlock two safes, subsequently making off with various prescription drugs.

The subsequent manhunt brought to light the identities of the suspects involved. Jude, a 31-year-old man from Cary, NC, and Whitaker, a 32-year-old Brooklyn, NY, resident, became prime suspects through investigative work. On June 8, Jude was apprehended by the prowess of the Howard County Police Department. He is currently awaiting trial, now situated behind bars at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
