IDAHO CITY, Idaho — Idaho City’s boil water advisory has been lifted as of Sept. 4. The city announced it received a “clear result” from the water testing conducted after the city’s water system was flooded with dirt and mud last week.
Heavy rainfall and flash flooding forced the city to close its water treatment plant on Aug. 27, leaving residents without water services. The rainfall washed large amounts of debris into the system, which city officials and volunteers worked to clear by hand. The city brought a water trailer from Idaho Rural Water for people to use while services were suspended.
The flooding also forced the Basin School District to cancel classes on Thursday and Friday that week because of the water closures. Multiple businesses along Highway 21 also closed…
