SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The Canyons School District may see some elementary schools close, and students across several campuses may be reassigned under new recommendations released this week.
Years of declining enrollment at the elementary level forced the district to consider consolidations, boundary changes, and school closures. Four proposals are now on the table, each with varying impacts on families.
“It’s hard, but we also know the district is in a hard place,” said Jenny Basford, whose child attends Granite Elementary.
