PHOENIX – Work is officially underway on a new $12.3 million fire station in fast-growing southeast Mesa.
Officials in Arizona’s third-most populous city marked the occasion with a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday at the site of Mesa Fire Station 224.
“This fire station is more than a construction project; it is a promise to our community,” Mayor Mark Freeman said in a press release Wednesday. “In 2022, Mesa voters placed their trust in us by approving the Public Safety Bond, and today we are turning that trust into reality with the groundbreaking for Fire Station 224.”
