Trick or Treat in the Heat still going strong after 20 years

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Trick or Treat in the Heat is returning Sunday, 20 years after the first event that started it all.

Before then, Alaska’s News Source will be hosting Trunk or Treat in the Heat, Trick or Treat in the Heat’s “opening night,” from 3–⁠7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will be used to support children’s charities.

A full list of participating neighborhoods can be found on the event’s website. Wristbands serve as a ticket for the event and they can be purchased online. Each neighborhood has a different designated wristband color.

The event serves as a memorial for Ian Robbins, who died on Oct. 18, 2005. Sean Robbins, Ian’s father, said Ian had leukemia and around this time of year, his family was told by the doctors they couldn’t tell how much time he had left…
