Abington Jefferson Hospital employee allegedly steals 85-year-old patient’s credit card to pay parking citation, purchase sneakers, according to police

An employee of Abington Jefferson Hospital has been accused of stealing a patient’s debit card and using it pay off parking citations and buy new sneakers, according to police.

On Aug. 4, around 10:51 a.m., the Abington Police Department was contacted by the victim’s son, who has legal power of attorney for his elderly mother, to report that his mother had been a victim of fraud.

The victim’s son told police that his mother, who is 85-years-old, was admitted to the hospital for approximately three to four days, according to police. During her stay, his mother’s credit card was stolen and used to make several transactions…
