126 animals rescued from Michigan traveling zoo owner with cruelty history

ANN ARBOR, MI — More than 100 animals were rescued from the care of a woman with a history of animal cruelty-related convictions.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley received an animal cruelty tip Friday, Aug. 29, regarding a traveling zoo in Plymouth, east of Ann Arbor, that led to the rescue of 126 animals, according to a statement from the shelter.

The rescued animals included 12 dogs, two cats, more than 20 horses and goats and a large assortment of various reptiles, amphibians and exotic insects. All the animals were found in poor health and are currently receiving veterinary treatment at the shelter, officials said…
