ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Gwinnett County family endured more than two months without their mother’s death certificate, not because of medical examiner backlogs, but due to a doctor’s failure to sign the required document.
Roberta Gardner lost her 79-year-old mother, Nancy Young, on March 11, 2025. What should have been a straightforward process became a prolonged ordeal that delayed Gardner’s ability to grieve and handle essential legal matters.
