MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A child was less than a block away from school when he was approached by a man asking if he wanted a ride – police are now asking for the community’s help identifying him.
Around 7:45 a.m. Thursday, a 10-year-old 5th-grade student was walking to school near the intersection of Karen Road and Avenue 16 ½ when a man pulled up next to him, facing into oncoming traffic.
Police say the man asked the child repeatedly if he wanted a ride to school. The two schools in the area, Sierra View Elementary School and Freedom Homeschool, were both less than a block away…
