Fernando Escotorivera, a 27-year-old San Mateo resident, found himself at the center of the conflict, having allegedly tried to pilfer merchandise worth around $550.50—a combination of clothing and cologne. Reportedly struggling with the store’s loss prevention officers, attempting to free himself, one officer was assaulted with a headbutt in the skirmish, who, later, refused medical attention and sustained only minor injuries.
