The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) has arrested one of its deputies following an internal investigation into the use of force during an arrest.
Deputy William Woods, 32, was taken into custody on Tuesday, September 2, for battery and official misconduct after an investigation by NCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 6.
On that date, Woods responded to a report of an intoxicated person and found him in his vehicle at the Amelia Hotel by the Sea.
